About DeviceHowTo

What is DeviceHowTo?

DeviceHowTo is a free how-to guide library for everyday device tasks. Whether you need to change a Wi-Fi password on your iPhone, pair Bluetooth headphones on Windows 11, or set up a parental control on an Amazon tablet, DeviceHowTo gives you clear, step-by-step instructions in plain English — no jargon, no account required.

Who is it for?

DeviceHowTo is for anyone who just wants to get something done. You don't need to be technical. Our guides are written for people who pick up a new device, hit a setting they've never seen before, and just need to know what to tap.

What devices and tasks do we cover?

We currently cover 30 of the most common device tasks across 8 platforms:

Tasks range from connectivity basics (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, VPN, hotspot) to system settings (screen timeout, brightness, storage, battery saver) to privacy and security (screen lock, notifications, app permissions).

How accurate are the guides?

Each guide is written against a specific operating system version and verified at the time of publication. Software updates can change menu locations and option names, so some steps may vary on the very latest OS builds. Every guide shows a “last verified” date so you can judge its freshness. If you spot something out of date, let us know.
